… is probably the first question my friends ask, when they come to visit Miami. I think they picture us suntanning all day long. Honestly though, the only time you’ll find me on the beach is when I’m creating photographs for my clients.
Enter Jytte. Although I didn’t meet her on the beach, we did end up on one photographing for Armpocket. Jytte is not from Florida originally, but she now runs a small business in South Florida, which makes an armband, that protects your phone, keys, cash, … while you go about your active lifestyle.
(This week I get to take over CreativeMornings/Miami’s tumblr blog. I’ll share some of my favorite places and people, who make Miami an awesome place to live. Check it out. Read the rest of this post on tumblr)
Super excited to give a talk on change at CreativeMornings Miami in March. Vizcaya is going to hostCreativeMornings again (sorry can’t say where either). If you’ve never gone to a CreativeMornings talk, you really should go, I hear the speaker in March will be interesting – but you didn’t hear it from me…
Sign up for the free breakfast and talk at CreativeMornings Miami’s website. CreativeMornings is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community. Their free, monthly events feature a short talk and breakfast and you can learn more about them here.
If you’re looking for a great place to network with young creatives in Miami (or a few hundred cities worldwide), check out CM.
March’s Creative Mornings will be different (i.E. better) than usual, since there will be two speakers talking about ‘change’ and you get to hear both! On top of a delicious breakfast, a gorgeous location–yes you’ll be able to hang out at Vizcaya for free for the rest of the day–we’re going to be screening “On Wings of Hope” after the event wraps up.
I’m excited to announce, that I’ll be teaching a second Move2Motion workshop for photographers on October 17, 2015 as part of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) educational event called: Super 1 Day
Video is becoming more and more prevalent online and you’re clients are looking to share the products and services of their businesses and personal events with their clients and friends in motion productions and no longer just stills.
Video is becoming more and more prevalent online and you’re clients are looking to share their businesses and events with their clients and friends in motion productions and no longer just stills.
This Move2Motion workshops will give you a comprehensive foundation of video and film production. We’ll look at …
Pascal Depuhl is a photographer who’s added cinematography to his repertoire a few years ago.
He teaches a workshop series called Move2Motion, designed for professional photographers, who want to add video and motion capabilities to the services they offer to their clients. Pascal has taught about video at WordCamp Miami and local universities. He’s given a TEDx talk based on the short documentary he filmed in Afghanistan and spoken about video at a few online conferences.
Pascal’s short films have won international marketing and photo industry awards, they’ve been screened in film festivals and National Geographic, the BBC and PBS have bought his footage. Pascal has also helped Philip Bloom, Nino Leitner and others teach at their Filmmaking workshops.
If you haven’t made the switch to adding motion to your photography yet, don’t worry. He’s been in your shoes and remembers what it felt like, when he dipped his toe into video.

In today’s world of Social Media, where everyone is clamoring for anyone’s attention, it seems counter intuitive to talk about humility. April’s CreativeMornings Miami (@miami_cm1) talk featured the 4 people behind The New Tropic (@NewTropicMiami) and the lessons they’ve learned about being humble – most of which come from Han Solo.
If you missed this months breakfast–lecture meeting we’ve got the video after the jump – the event was packed at the brand new “MADE at the citadel” (@MADELittleHaiti), where a full house of young Miami Creatives networked, enjoyed breakfast –Thanks to KIND bars (@KINDSnacks) – my favorite granola bars and Lemon City Teas (@LemonCityTeas) for their refreshing tea– and learned what it means to stay humble (kind of).
[HINT: If you’ve never checked out CreativeMornings you owe it to yourself to do just that – they are in 110 cities around the world and chances are there close to you – you can check out the video on the next page.]
